MUST READ!!! MTN 08030004900 NUMBER | FACTS BEHIND

When someone sent me a whatsapp message that I should not pick any call from 08030004900, I immediately know something is wrong somewhere. Soon people started sending fairy tales of evil things which the number has brought on fellow Nigerians.

The truth is the messages are all lies and the number is nothing but an MTN Nigeria reserved number for promotions.

Facts You Should Know About 08030004900

08030004900 is an MTN Nigeria telemarketing line used for promotions
Instead of calling with 4900, they call with a longer normal looking number
It’s only meant for marketing purposes only, hence can't be called
4900 is a short code used by MTN for their caller tunez promotional services and the full digit is 08030004900

Stop spreading rumors all over, no sorcery attached to that number.

MTN TO ROLL OUT 4G NETWORK - REVEALS CODE FOR CHECKING SIM COMPATIBILITY

Recent I share a post on MTN 4g lte data bundle plan unveiled, prices, and full details, I have been thinking since last weekend the way MTN NG is going, they’ll do something Amazing and of a truth, they have something bigger in mind. Sometimes last year, MTN launched 4G LTE in Cameron and now is the shocker; MTN will be launching 4G LTE in Nigeria.

It sounds like a shocker but I can tell you that Ntel might be in trouble with this shocker news.
MTN Nigeria is set to roll out its Fourth Generation Long Term Evolution (4G LTE) broadband services latest by July 2016 in selected cities, using the 800MHz frequency acquired from Visafone Ltd earlier this year. MTN plans to have about 1,500 LTE collocated sites back-hauled with fibre optics this year. With LTE, you can enjoy HD Video Streaming, Video and voice calls, superfast downloads, online gaming and so much more. That is one reason that MTN continue to push it 4G network deployment with vigor.

2.     SLIIDE AIRTIME APP | GET FREE MTN, GLO, ETISALAT, AIRTEL CREDIT
3.     CHEAPEST EVER DATA BUNDLES FROM MTNDATA.COM.NG

According to MTN executive office, Mr Fedinand Moolman “that the main reason MTN acquired Visafone was to get access to the frequency which would allow it roll out LTE. He said that MTN has started the process to migrate all the Visafone subscribers onto its network so that they can clean up the frequency and start rolling out LTE.”

LTE offers faster download and upload speeds that will considerably improve your internet experience. With LTE you can stream music and video, upload and download faster. You can essentially use your mobile or tablet like a fixed line internet connection

I can authoritatively inform you that MTN engineers have visited and upgraded the base stations to be 4G ready in preparation for a national activation of the service. MTN has also release the price list for their 4G service some weeks ago.

As we all know, not all phones are 4G ready and not all MTN SIM cards in circulation now are 4G ready too. To check if you phone will work with MTN 4G services, ensure you are in a 4G enable area and check if your phone network service change to 4G. You can also visit the nearest MTN store or any phone store near you to be sure the device supports Band 7 (2600mHz).

Recommended:
To check if you MTN SIM is 4G compliant, kindly send 4G to 131 as an SMS. If you SIM card cannot work with the 4G LTE service, you can swap the SIM free of charge at any MTN office or you can just purchase a new SIM pack.

How many minutes can you “yan” with your folks with just a hundred naira?

Best MTN Tariff plans in Nigeria 2016
Contrary to the fact that just four tariff plans are discussed in this post, MTN has more than four plans. But as the heading suggests, these ones are the only reasonable ones on their catalogue.

MTN Beta Talk
The promises that this tariff plan offers en! It can make one go gaga!
According to the MTN ad, if you are an MTN BetaTalk subscriber, you get to enjoy 200% bonus on any recharge above ₦100 you make. – Errr…. One cannot “recharge below ₦100” so technically, on every recharge you make while a BetaTalk subscriber, you are slammed 200% bonus airtime.

Recommended:

All that one na English and Math. What the chunk of text above means is that; if you recharge your cell with ₦100, you’ll have a bonus of ₦200 so your bonus and your actual recharge tallies up to ₦300.

Therefore:

₦100 gives you ₦300

₦200 gives you ₦600

₦400 gives you ₦1200

₦500 gives you …….? – answer that!

Yup! You got it right, you enjoy 3x every recharge you make while on MTN BetaTalk – You are good! 😉

Rates:

The airtime you get while on this tariff plan can be used to call any network in Nigeria. It can also be used to send text messages and browse (No try am sha).

Calls are charged at 40 kobo per second – ₦24 per minute. So this implies that with just ₦100 recharge you get to talk with your folks for 12 minutes 30 seconds!

So cool right?

Nah, it’s not and here’s why:

With the next tariff plan, you get to find out that ₦300 on MTN BetaTalk is equivalent to ₦82.5.

To Migrate to MTN BetaTalk,

Dial *123*2*6#

Note: You cannot share the airtime allotted to you on BetaTalk.

MTN Pulse

Yes, this is my current Tariff plan! It’s freaking awesome!
MTN Pulse is the most advertised tariff plan on MTN. I’ve seen various adverts on television and there’s even a song done for the plan (Falz try for the song sha!). In fact, MTN pulse is more than just a tariff plan, “It’s a movement”.

I’m now sounding like an MTN staff who works in the PULSE department right?

Well, that’s how much I love Pulse.

Here’s why I love pulse so much as to sound like an advocate:

  • You get to enjoy cheap rates on national calls. To be specific, for every minute you talk on MTN pulse, you pay just ₦6.6. This would mean that with  a hundred naira, I can relate with my folks over the phone for almost 15 minutes! (There’s a catch).
  • While other MTN subscribers are getting 750MB for ₦500, you get 1GB for the same amount (valid for a week).
  • You are the only MTN subscriber eligible to browse at night for almost free – 500MB for just ₦25
  • On every recharge of ₦100/₦200 you get a data bonus of 10MB/20MB – once a week and valid for only 24 hours.

2.     MTN StartPack : How to Migrate, Benefits, Tariffs and Bonuses
3.     HOW TO TRANSFER CREDIT ON MTN MOBILE NETWORK

Remember I talked about a “catch” for making calls at ₦6.6/min Well, It’s not much of a catch. It’s just that before you begin enjoying the ₦6.6/min rate you’d have to use ₦10 at the rate of 20k/s.

What this means is your first 50 seconds of the day will be charged at ₦12/min while subsequent seconds @ ₦6.6/min.

However, even with this little perk, ₦100 still guarantees you 14 minutes 28 seconds of national calls (i.e. to all networks in Nigeria) and ₦200 – 29 minutes 37 seconds.

See why I said ₦300 (₦100 + bonus) on MTN BetaTalk is equivalent to ₦82.5 on MTN Pulse?

Look:

If you’re not cool with the fact that the first 50 seconds of the day is charged at ₦12/min, have a look at the next plan – there’s no first-minute charge rate.

To join MTN Pulse:
Dial *406#
MTN Xtra Pro

Are you someone who makes lots of calls and have no business browsing with your MTN SIM?

Well, shove everything I said about MTN Pulse into the waste bin and consider this plan.

With MTN Xtra Pro, you get to make calls from the very first minute of the day to the last at just  11 kobo per second – don’t get confused, it’s equivalent to ₦6.6 per minute.

Sweet right?

Yeah, really cool but……..

You have to pay a small daily access fee – ₦5.

But it’s still freaking awesome joor because, for just a small fee of ₦5, you can gist for 29 minutes 32 seconds with just ₦200.

Wait, 32 seconds? That’s 5 seconds less than what you can get on Pulse!

Oh well, you don’t browse so stick with this. 🙂

Lest I forget, the call rate of ₦6.6 per minute is for national calls only (to all Nigerian networks). If you are someone who calls abroad, the next plan should be what you opt in to.

To migrate to MTN Xtra Pro:
Dial *401#
MTN XtraSpecial
So you’re that special someone who calls overseas in this “Buhari economy”. – Baba show me way too o.

Calling international could put a whole in your pocket as international call rates are often way higher than national calls. However, with MTN XtraSpecial, you get to call both national and international folks (select locations) for the same price – ₦9 per minute!

There’s no daily access fee, no first-minute charge, no perks. Just migrate and start calling.

The select international locations are;

  • Argentina
  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Bangladesh
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Bulgaria
  • Canada
  • Cyprus
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Israel
  • Luxemburg
  • Malaysia
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Portugal
  • Poland
  • Romania
  • Russia
  • Singapore
  • South Africa
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Thailand
  • Turkey
  • U.K
  • U.S.A

Errr….. Italy is not on the list. To migrate:

Dial *408#
That’s it folks, the most reasonable MTN Tariff plans in Nigeria at the moment. Wait, I’ve not talked about how XtraValue’s ₦24,500 is equivalent to ₦5,050.

MTN XtraValue Bundles

You know about MTN’s XtraValue bundles right? Read about it here or better still, have a look at the shot below:

Omo with this one en! MTN don die for my hand!

What caused the excitement was ignorance. I (at that moment) did not know that call rates for the Xtra Value bundles were extreme. My thoughts were that I would be charged the same ₦6.6 per minute I am charged on Pulse or Xtra Pro.

At ₦6.6/min you know what it means right?

It means with I could talk for 48 minutes every day for just ₦67! (₦2k for 30 days).

However, the math didn’t quite pan out as I projected. I put to test my hypothesis one day by buying the cheapest bundle from the offerings (₦300) but was shocked by my findings. Calls were charged at ₦24/min.

Also Read:
1.     Infinix Big 6 | Review, Spec and Price in Nigeria
2.     HOW TO SHARE SIMPLE SERVER AND PSIPHON CONNECTION VIA USB AND HOTSPOT

Omo see f*ck up!

It was later that I found out from their official page that the rate increases across the bundles – for the ₦5k bundle, you are charged ₦33/min for national calls and ₦39.6/min for international calls.

Nonetheless, there’s still value in the XtraValue bundles (XtraTalk specifically) thanks to the data appended to it.

Now, I see the XtraValue bundles as buying an XtraPro equivalent amount of talk time with a data bonus. I.e. when you pay ₦5k to get the ₦24,500 you get 12 hours 22 minutes national talk time + 1.6GB data whereas, ₦5k on MTN Xtra Talk gives you 12 hours 37 minutes national talk time (minus daily access fee).

So you see, any XtraValue bundle is simply XtraPro with a data bonus.

Conclusively, these are the best MTN Tariff plans that I know of at the moment.

Know something better? Please do let me know.

Questions? Ask them below, I’d be willing to help.

MTN TV Broadcasting | MTN Launches Its First Ever Digital TV Broadcasting Services in Nigeria

MTN Nigeria on Wednesday took a major step into broadcasting and media on Wednesday with the launch of its digital television broadcasting service in Jos, Plateau State.

According to the telecommunication giant, the Over-The-Top (OTT) service will bring together telecommunications, broadcasting and media on the same platform.
This new development is sequel to the N34 billion digital broadcast licence issued to the telecom company by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation in 2015.

According to the statement released by the company, about N25bn extra was spent for the launch, asserting that Nigerians could now watch TV programmes on their smartphones and other devices via social media platforms like WhatsApp, BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook and Twitter, among others.

This will be the first fully converged broadcast and OTT-VOD service to launch in MTN,” Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Ferdi Moolman said.

MTN is committed to providing Nigerians with innovative digital platforms which will enhance the way we live, work and play.

“Once we commence full commercial activities, the TV service will deliver an exciting bouquet of rich local and international content to Nigerians.
“In addition, subscribers will have the freedom to watch their favourite programs when they choose to via MTN VOD service, rather than having to watch at a specific broadcast time.

Indeed, the launch of MTN TV is another bold demonstration of MTN’s abiding faith in the future of Nigeria, driving growth and development by enabling Nigerians to keep pace with the latest global trends and converged solutions.

HOW TO BORROW AIRTIME FROM MTN, GLO, ETISALAT AND GLO

Once in a while, we get into situations that we need to make an urgent call but there is no credit on our telephones to make such important calls. This is one major reason that the 4 GSM service providers is Nigeria decided to provide the opportunity for customers to borrow credit on MTN, GLO, Etisalat and Airtel using USSD code.

Every network has a unique code for airtime borrowing. Checkout the different codes below:
MTN: This package is officially called XtraTime by MTN Nigeria. It is only available for prepaid customers whose balance is less than 12 Naira. To borrow airtime from MTN, simply dial *606*amount# or you dial *606# AND follow the instructions.

GLO: Each customer is required to request through the predefined short code *321#, which will provide the customer the amounts qualified for. To get specific denominations use the following short codes: *321*50# for N50, *321*100# for N100, etc.  A service charge of 10% is deducted on any amount borrowed.

It is rimmed with a metallic frame. The look is more high-end this time. The handset crams in a massive 5.5-inch IPS display raising expectation of great wide viewing angles. That expectation is a bit tempered, though, by an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels – still decent for a device like this.

Camera and Storage

The handset is supposedly the first to be powered by Tecno’s newly-designed HiOS software, a custom version of Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Other Features

For superb sound, the Tecno Boom J8 will be accompanied by a Boom Headset. Audio quality is tuned by Maxx Audio technology, which ensures you enjoy great sound both via the loudspeaker or headphones.

The phablet is accompanied by a large 3000mAh Li-Ion battery with fast charge support and an ultra power-saving mode. It supports dual-SIM feature and LTE connectivity.

18 Things About NYSC Camping You Have To Prepared Your Mind For

1. Prepare Your Mind:
First and foremost, you need to prepare your mind that you are leaving home for a regimented life in the camp. Life in the camp is deliberately made stressful so as to prepare you for any challenge that may confront you outside the camp.

You will not find it too comfortable, It’s a camp and not your Father’s house! Just be ready for anything.

3. Go Early:

Please, no matter how close the camp might be to your street, enable to go early. If you are posted to a far state, go the day before the camp opens. They will allow you in.

Going late will make you go through registration stress. Be warned!

4. Screening:

The screening starts at the gate, where your loads are open and thoroughly search. They don’t want you to bring in prohibited items like iron, knives, bombs, etc.

5. Registration:

The first registration will certainly be for hostel/bedspace, where you;ll be given tags to identify with. Then the paper registrations proper follows. try as much as possible to make everything available. Look out for information pasted on walls. Follow instructions strictly.

6. Your Kits:

During the registration, you will get all your kits (shirts, shorts and shoes). Use the marker to write your Code Number (CN) on them ‘sharp-sharp ” You will also be given a tag that will show your CN. That will be your ID Card temporarily. You take it everywhere in camp. You will be given a meal ticket. Misplace it and forget about NYSC food.

7. Duration:

You will be in the camp for 20 full days. The 21st day is the day you will be leaving the camp.

8. No Room For Casual Wears:

Immediately you have your kits, only your T-shirt and shorts with the tennis shoe are allowed on you. No room for casual wears. Parade/marching training starts immediately. The soldiers will not give you breathing space at all. You will have the first one that same Day One.

Watch Out! people could be fainting on the Parade Ground.

You won’t faint, calm down… So eat well. It’s the stress that causes their fainting.
9. Morning Regimented Programme:

A small trumpet wakes you at 4am. Everybody gathers at the Parade Ground (PG) at 4:30am. You have your praise, worship and prayer the Christian and Muslim ways. After the morning admonitions, by 7am, breakfast follows! After eating, you will be called out again for the series of programmes lined up for you. Then you have your lunch.

Rest a little and you are out again for evening parade. Then later your dinner. This will repeat itself everyday perhaps except on Sunday.

10. Hate The Food And Feed Yourselves At Your Costs:

You may not like the food. You can always go to the Mammy Market (MM) i.e the Camp Market to fill your ‘tank’ with delicacies at your cost. nigerian-map-flag x 300

11. Stealing:

Stealing is prevalently prevailing at the Camp. This is ‘legalised’. They can steal anything. Be wise.

12. Soldiers:

Please i beckon on you all to respect and obey them. although they are not permitted to beat you, however, they can punish you. No walking, its all jogging when they call you. Don’t prostrate or kneel down greeting a soldier. Do it the soldier way. They could be friendly anyway.

13. Allawe:

Your first allowance (#19, 800) will be given to you in the camp, and it will be in cash. All other ones will be through the bank. You will also get Bicycle Allowance.

14. Photography:

Photographers are going to be everywhere ready to snap you, please be prudent in spending.

15. By Now Your Done With Camp And Going To Your Place Of Primary Assignment:

You will be posted from the camp to where you will work.

The place you work in is called your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). Hear this: most Corps members, I mean about 90% of the Corpers will be posted to schools

(especially primary and secondary schools). Only VERY FEW will be posted to the universities, polytechnics and Colleges. Please! Don’t lobby for your posting. Don’t pay anybody for assistance. Pray rather than pay. Gone are the days when Corps Members are posted to Banks and Co.

Receive the shocking or expected postings as you receive your letters with joy. It’s a clarion call to service; that’s what dey call it.

16. Transportation Out Of Camp:

When you get your Posting Letter, the first place to go to is your PPA. If you are identified with the Fellowship in camp, you may first report at the temporary lodge they will provide. Then you could report at your PPA later same day or the following day. Please, when you leave the camp, home- sweet-home will be on your mind, having been used up in the camp. But please, don’t go home straight. Please!

Very few of your employers (i.e. PPAs) will send down vehicles to convey you from the camp to their workplaces.

Private and some Govt higher education institutions do. The Fellowship too make arrangement for you at your cost. Commercial transporters will likely be available at the gate too. Be wise.

17. Accommodation At PPA:

You don’t know anybody in Benue or Kogi! Where will you sleep on the first day? The Fellowship may give you a temporary accommodation pending the time you will have to get yours. You could be lucky if your employer gives you a room. Many of them don’t give Corpers accommodation anyway. So be prepared to rent one at your cost. Your first ‘allowee’ which you received in the camp is already going down!

18. Clearance:

This is why you don’t have to go home straight. Your registration (clearance) at the NYSC Office in the Local Govt you will be posted to is important. Failure to complete it before going home is the beginning of your problem. You may begin to have problems with his subsequent monthly allowances. Do all registrations first. Then you can take permission to go home. Long process! You will know why it’s so. Well, I hope these few tips will go a long way to help you.
