Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Price, Features, and Pictures

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 is the latest product from the Chinese gadget manufacturer’s ‘Mi Pad’ line of tablet. The device is the successor to the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 which was released over a year ago and you can surely trust Xiaomi to do bring on board improved features on this new device compared to its predecessor.

The tablet was officially unveiled by Xiaomi on June 25 alongside the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro. Let’s have a quick peek at some of the specs and features of the new Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 under the following headers:

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4: Design and Aesthetic

Compared to its predecessor, one of the design modifications that comes easily to the eye is the sleek and narrow body structure of the device. The Mi Pad 4 is designed to ease operating the device with one hand (when used vertically). The tablet comes in smooth aluminum body with glass covering on the front.

At 7.9mm, the Mi Pad 4 is a bit thicker than its predecessor. Interestingly,
a Nano SIM card slot has been added to the left side of the tablet; a feature that the Mi Pad 3 lacked.

All the hard keys and buttons (volume up, volume down, and power button) of the tablet are all on the right-hand side.

Another design modification to the Mi Pad 4 is the placement of the loudspeaker. The tablet now comes with two speaker grills, both of which are located at the bottom of the device on each side of the USB-C port.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 is available in two colour options only: Rose Gold (with white dial on the front) and Black (with black dial on the front).

There is an 8.0-inch screen on the front with a 77% screen-to-body ratio. The display is an IPS LCD type and has a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a 283 ppi pixel density. The tablet has a 16:10 aspect ratio with bezels which have become tad bit slimmer. The curved edges of the display also does add to the aesthetic properties of the tablet.

The primary camera is a 13-megapixels shooter situated at the top-left corner of the device. On the front, placed centrally at the top of the display, is a 5MP selfie camera. Both sensor lack LED flashlight support but take top quality pictures.

As a cherry on top, the front-facing camera come with AI support for facial recognition (face unlock).

Processor and Storage
Per storage, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 comes in two different RAM and ROM combo. The standard variant has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory while the second variant has bigger storage capacity; 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64GB built-in storage.

All version of the Mi Pad 4 are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 system-on-chip with eight cores that can clock up to 2.2GHz and laced with the Adreno 512 GPU to handle graphics. The tablet comes out of the box with Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 9.0 OS (based on Android Oreo v8.1).

Network and Connectivity
Regarding network options, there are two models of the Xiaomi: a Wi-Fi only model (with no SIM card support) and a Wi-Fi + LTE model (with single Nano SIM card support).

Other connectivity options on the Mi Pad 4 include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band, 2.45 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS & A-GPS (for LTE model only), and USB-C.

The Mi Pad 3 caught the attention of many when it launched with a 6,600mAh battery. It’s safe to say the the Mi Pad 4 will follow in the same footsteps even though the battery capacity has been watered down to 6,000mAh perhaps in a bid to make the tablet slimmer and one-hand friendly.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Price and Availability
Sales of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 officially commenced four days after it was launched and here’s how much each model and variants cost:

3GB+32GB WiFi model — $166
4GB+64GB WiFi model — $211

With a front-facing camera laced with AI-powered face unlock, LTE support, fast Snapdragon processor, colossal battery backup, and redefined design, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 is a tablet flagship killer.
